About Ashley

Ashley grew up in Daly City and attended the Jefferson Unified School District, her connection to this community is lifelong. Her understanding goes deeper than just residency. Having experienced public housing in San Mateo County and faced the reality of being unhoused multiple times over the last three years, she didn’t just study the housing crisis—she lived it. This perspective drives the dedication to creating programs that ensure long-time residents aren't priced out of the neighborhoods that raised them. She’s running to preserve the heartbeat of the community and to ensure that home is a stable reality for everyone, not a luxury.

Ashley’s professional background bridges the gap between grassroots advocacy and high-level policy analysis. As a Coro Fellow in Public Affairs, she gained a 360-degree view of how the public, private, and nonprofit sectors intersect. From analyzing legislative impacts at the San Francisco Housing Accelerator Fund to conducting community needs assessments at Empower Oakland, she possesses the technical expertise to translate community needs into actionable, effective policy.

She believes that democracy is at its best when it is inclusive and engaging. Ashley has dedicated herself to building bridges across the community. Through her work with Interfaith America, she secured the "Faith in Elections Playbook Grant," which was instrumental in fostering dialogue and safeguarding the 2024 election. Whether organizing voter guides through the artist collective Lyrical Opposition or serving as a Youth Director, her goal remains consistent: to equip others with the tools to drive positive change. She views faith and creativity not just as personal values, but as powerful catalysts for justice, equity, and communal joy.

Drawing on her experience as a former 5th-grade teacher, she often notes that the more voices included in our democracy, the more vivid and colorful the world becomes. She rejects the status quo and empty rhetoric in favor of data-driven policy that reflects the actual needs of her neighbors. While she represents a fresh face on the ballot, her grassroots approach ensures that her platform is built from the ground up—by the people, for the people. She is prepared to lead with a holistic perspective that ensures no neighbor is left behind.
